Health Effects of Pesticides

Initial exposure to pesticides introduces symptoms of headaches and nausea, while long-term exposure to pesticides can gradually weaken your immune system and introduce a plethora of adverse health impacts such as: Cancer, reproductive harm, and endocrine disruption.

Multiple Chemical Sensitivity (MCS) is a condition that surfaces as a direct result of extended exposure to pesticides; This condition lowers a person’s tolerance to chemicals and pollutants (increasing their susceptibility to foreign diseases).

Children are notably far more susceptible (especially infants/toddlers) to the effects of pesticides due to the fact that their brains and vital organs are still developing. Normal things that children do like crawling, putting things in their mouth, touching foreign objects, etc put them at a greater risk of exposure to pesticides. According to the EPA, serious side effects to prolonged pesticide exposure include: birth defects, behavioral changes, organ damage, cancer/asthma symptoms, etc.
